EXPLORE TILE TRENDS FOR 2022

This year, renovators and interior designers alike are expected to embrace colour, texture, and pattern. Keep reading to discover the tile trends we’re most excited for in 2022:

Square Tiles

While subway tiles continue to be incredibly popular, there is a new shape on the block – square tiles. When laid in a grid pattern, square tiles can evoke feelings of nostalgia without looking dated or overly traditional.

Like the subway, square tiles are available in a huge variety of colours, finishes and edge types. Among our favourites is the handmade-look square tile, like our La Riviera collection. Handmade-look tiles create an artisanal look and add texture to the space with their irregular edges.

Terrazzo Tiles

Homeowners and designers continue to love terrazzo as we head into 2022. The colour and pattern variation of terrazzo immediately adds visual interest, making it the perfect option when creating a feature wall or statement floor.

The type of terrazzo tile you choose will depend on your preferences:

• If you’re after a statement terrazzo, try Rainbow Charms

• To create a soft, subtle look, choose Sparkle

• For a luxe Ceppo di Gre-inspired tile, select Verona

• And for neutral and classic terrazzo, try Terrachipor Castle

Textured Feature Tiles

If you prefer neutral colour schemes, then Textured Feature Tiles are the perfect way to create visual interest and contrast in your space without relying on bright colours.  

For example, you could lay our Liberty tiles on the walls and floor of your new bathroom, with one wall decorated in the Liberty Glow feature tiles. The feature tiles have a 3D geometric design which makes the space pop but keeps it feeling uncluttered and minimalist.

Bright & Happy Colours

In contrast to neutral textured tiles, bright and happy colours create a lively, energetic atmosphere for those who are feeling a little bored by muted colours.

Warm and vivid colours like our La Riviera Quetzal, La Riviera Ginger, and Tribeca Watercolour make for an eye-catching feature wall. If you don’t want to do a full wall of colour, you could decorate the bottom half of the wall with bright tiles and place a white tile on the top half of the wall.

Classic Marble & Stone

Luxe stone and marble-look tiles aren’t going anywhere in 2022, especially in large-format options. Large-format tiles offer a larger area of uninterrupted design, and less grout lines for easy care and maintenance.

Our X-Rock tiles continue to be popular as we head into the new year, as well as our Statuario Bianco classic white marble-look tiles.

Some other timeless stone and marble options are Liberty, Schwarz, and Aegean. To really make a statement, we recommend our large-format Marmi Grande slab tiles.
