With 2015 soon approaching, we’re looking at what the biggest trends in tiles are going to be for the next year! We visited the Cersaie Tile Fair in September, where around 100,000 people gather each year to witness the world’s premier tile exhibition in Bologna, Italy – and we’re very excited about the products in store that are set to make a statement for 2015!
By far the biggest trend at Cersaie was hexagonal tiles. I’m sure you’ve seen them already popping up throughout this year, but the variety and quality is just getting bigger and better. With the advances in technology of digital ink-jet printing is seeing manufacturers produce bolder designs, including geometric motifs. You’ll be seeing some classic colours in stores as well like our Hexagonal Polished Greywood and Nero Marquinia 45x45mm.
Another big trend that is here for 2015 are concrete-look tiles – their minimalism creates the perfect foundation for contemporary commercial and residential spaces. Our favourite would have to be the One series – with six colours available, you’ll have ample choice when it comes to picking the right tile.
There is a transformation happening at the moment in terms of tile shapes and sizes. Ultra large slim panels have arrived on the scene. Large rectangular tile surfaces provide an opportunity for manufactures to create realistic replicas of popular surface finishes like stone and wood. Some of our favourite large format tiles are the Rainforest series that come in a giant 150x900mm.
This product needs no introduction – polished marble. It was EVERYWHERE at Cersaie. It still makes such a big statement and doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.
